Why resize before uploading
A photo straight off a phone camera is often 3000–4000 pixels wide — far larger than any screen needs it displayed at. Uploading it unresized to a website, online store or email wastes bandwidth, slows the page down and can trip file-size limits. Batch resizing fixes an entire folder in one pass instead of opening each photo individually.
Why the aspect ratio matters
Setting only a max width or max height and letting the tool scale the other dimension proportionally keeps people and objects looking normal. Forcing an exact width and height on a batch of differently-shaped photos is what causes the "stretched" or "squished" look — this tool fits each image inside your maximum box instead, so a portrait and a landscape photo both come out looking correct.
What this does not do
This changes pixel dimensions only, not file compression settings — pair it with the image compressor for the smallest possible file size, or use format conversion if you also want to switch between JPG, PNG and WebP.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Every image is resized locally in your browser using the Canvas API — nothing is sent anywhere.
How many images can I resize at once?
As many as your browser can hold in memory — dozens of typical photos work fine. Very large batches may take a few seconds longer.
Will small images get stretched larger?
No. If an image is already smaller than your max width/height, it is left unchanged rather than upscaled and blurred.
Can I set an exact size instead of a maximum?
This tool fits images inside a box while keeping their proportions, which avoids distortion. For an exact crop, resize the max dimensions to match your target aspect ratio.
